Devnet Professional Study Plan (Updated)
In my current position, I have begun building out a road-map for a Site Reliability Engineering cell I am standing up within the organization. However, it quickly came to my attention that although I am aware of many of the concepts within DevNet, I am master of none. So, in order to lead this team, I decided to smarten up. That led to a frenzy of studies to get myself up-to-speed enough to at least pass the DevNet Professional DEVCOR and ENAUTO exams.
I am currently working through the following plan:
Network Programmability with YANG: Aug 22 - Nov 04
CBT Nuggets DevNet Associate Videos wLabs (review): Aug 22 - Sep 02
CBT Nuggets DevNet Core Videos w/o Labs: Sep 03 - Sep 10
CBT Nuggets DevNet Core Videos w/Labs: Sep 11 - Sep 18
Cisco Virtual Instructor-Led DEVCOR Course: Sep 19 - 23
Cisco Digital Leaning DEVCOR Course: Sept 26 - Nov 04
Cisco DEVCOR Exam: Nov 06 (PASS!)
Network Programmability and Automation Fundamentals: Nov 07 - However long this best takes!
Cisco Digital Leaning Enterprise Automation (ENAUI): Nov 07 - Nov 18
Cisco Digital Leaning Enterprise Automation (ENAUI) Review: Nov 20 - Nov 29
Independent Labbing and Review of Exam Topics: Nov 30 - Dec 02
Cisco ENAUTO Exam: Dec 04
Update (07 Nov): I passed the DEVCOR exam. There is a large practical component to the exam. It is not just memorization, you are expected to understand how to DO things! The Cisco DEVCOR course paired with CBT Nuggets as an initial overview was a good combination for theory. Neither course fully prepares you for the lab component, though taking what is given and expanding it on your own with repetition provides sufficient experience for the exam. Onto ENAUTO — well, passed that as well now (02 Dec). DevNet Professional Certified!
